February is one of the most stunning times to visit the Yorkshire Dales and we have two great weeks still available at The Old Vicarage from 6th-12th or 20th-26th of the month.
The air is characteristically crisp and the skies are often bright blue, making a wonderful backdrop for the trees and foliage - perfect for bracing walks in the surrounding countryside. It is also a month when you start noticing the first signs of spring and there are plenty of things to do in the area to celebrate the start of the new season.
The nearby stately home of Kiplin Hall opens its gardens at the beginning of the month so that visitors can marvel at the carpets of snowdrops and aconites and at Thorp Perrow Arboretum - one of the finest private collections of trees and shrubs in the country - you can admire the early spring flowers while taking a stroll in the 85-acre grounds.
For something a little bit different, why not go to the Festival of Food, Drink and Rhubarb at Wakefield? This annual event takes place from 20-22 February and showcases all things to do with rhubarb, including celebrity chef demonstrations.
For another unique experience, head to the historic city of York. The Yorvik Viking Festival from 14-22 February has over 100 Norse-themed events, including sword fighting workshops and dramatic combat performances; music and literary events; and dining extravaganzas.
At the end of a busy day, it's also nice to relax in front of a real fire or spend time luxuriating in the extensive, indoor private leisure facilities.
Call Julia on 01748 884348 to secure your perfect February break and discuss price, or book using the online facilities on this website. We look forward to welcoming you.
