Yorkshire is cycling hotspot

The world's best cyclists are coming to this part of the world later this month to take part in the UCI World Championships - the UK's biggest sporting event of 2019.

The nearby market town of Richmond is hosting the Junior Men's Race on Thursday 26 September with riders setting off from the Market Place and travelling through Catterick, Leyburn and Aysgarth for a finish in Harrogate.

Then, on Sunday 29 September, the Men's Elite Road Race weaves its way through Aysgarth, Hawes, Buttertubs Pass, Gunnerside, Grinton (a stone's throw from The Old Vicarage), Leyburn, Middleham and West Witton.

Having already hosted the Tour de France and the Tour de Yorkshire, this latest race really cements the area's reputation of having some of the best cycle routes in the UK.
