Barn owlet raised in Old Brewery

Success at last! After over 20 years of waiting, we have finally seen the wings of a barn owlet flutter from one of our stone barns.

The newly restored Old Brewery is home to a now 2-month-old barn owlet. At this stage, owlets have just started flying locally and roosting away from their nest or owl box and without their mother. Soon, our owlet will move away from home after learning the tricks and trades of night hunting.

At the moment, we are unable to identify the sex of our new arrival so we are waiting to see if we can call her/him Betty or Barry the Barn Owl!

Let’s hope for more next season! 🦉
