Despite the rather wet summer weather resulting in the cancellation of several agricultural shows around the country, we have enjoyed a successful season with our Highland Cattle.
Morgan, one of our heifers that did so well last season, has again taken lots of prizes at this year's shows, including championships at Ripley and Kilnsey. Moya, one of our younger competitors has also excelled and won her class of yearlings at Kilnsey Show.
The last event of the season was Nidderdale Show at Pateley Bridge, near Harrogate. We were delighted to win two first prizes, as well as a second and third.
Many of our guests get to know the Highland Cattle well during their holidays at The Old Vicarage and they are a great favourite with the children who love to help out with their feeds or groom their long silky coats.
