Steeped in history

The house was built around 1850 as a vicarage for the nearby hamlet of Marrick and has recently been fully renovated by its current owners. It offers an exceptionally high standard of holiday accommodation that is rarely seen in the self-catering sector and has consistently received a 5-star Gold award from Visit England – the highest rating possible for holiday properties in Britain.

We believe The Old Vicarage is unique and it combines a home-from-home experience with carefully designed interiors to bring you an indulgent and luxurious self-catering holiday.

Passionately restored and renovated

The Old Vicarage has been lovingly and meticulously restored by its current owners, preserving its rich history while seamlessly integrating modern luxuries. Many original features remain, from characterful beams to period fireplaces, creating an atmosphere that is both timeless and welcoming. Thoughtfully designed interiors blend antique furnishings with contemporary art, offering a stylish yet comfortable retreat where every detail has been carefully considered.

The property has five spacious bedrooms, sleeping nine people or ten using an additional occasional bed. There is also a comfortable lounge, elegant dining room, cosy snug, well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen, three luxurious bathrooms, a useful downstairs cloakroom, utility room and pet room.

  • "The location of The Old Vicarage is absolutely stunning. Being surrounded by green fields, far reaching views and wonderful skyline is a real tonic. Seeing the sheep graze, watching the many varied bird species flit in and out of view, cattle making their way up and down the fields and topped off with getting close up and personal with some of Julia's Highland Cattle for a grooming session, what's not to like?! We have enjoyed many walks around the fields with the dogs and had a great time down by the river. Every day has been full on. Going home tired but very happy with such fond memories of Julia and The Old Vicarage."
