Bringing a dog or other pet? Here’s what to know

Dogs love it here as much as their owners! With wonderful walks straight from the doorstep and across the surrounding countryside, it’s a great place for four-legged friends to enjoy some fresh air and freedom.

If you’d like to bring a dog or other pet, please let us know at the time of booking, so we can discuss suitability and confirm you are happy with our policy. A surcharge of £40 per dog applies. Once here, pets must always be properly controlled and supervised.

Please note that dogs are not permitted in the living spaces in the main house, but we do have a specially designated pet room, next to the utility room. It has one door, which opens out onto the courtyard, which is bounded by buildings on three sides and a wall and bank on the fourth. It has a window, dog basket, heater and tap just outside the door. From experience we know that this arrangement suits some dogs and owners well, but not all. Please talk through the arrangements with us before you book as we are unable to make any compromises. We request that dogs are not left unattended in the pet room when guests go out.

We kindly ask that owners clean up after their pets both in the pet room and outside the property, including the surrounding fields, otherwise extra cleaning charges will apply. Dog waste should be double bagged and put inside the bin liner in the dustbin that is located in the rubbish/recycling shed. Thank you for helping us to keep The Old Vicarage clean and hygienic for everyone.
