October is a lovely time to experience Swaledale. The landscape is taking on its autumn colours, the footpaths are quieter and there are beautiful walks to enjoy straight from the doorstep.
There’s plenty happening locally too. Arrive in time for the final weekend of the Yorkshire Dales Cheese Festival and the Leyburn Jazz Festival, or enjoy some seasonal fun at Thorp Perrow Arboretum and Kiplin Hall, where their Halloween trails will be underway. The Forbidden Corner also launches its autumn Halloween event that weekend.
And when you return to The Old Vicarage after your day out, there’s plenty to enjoy whatever the weather. Guests have exclusive use of our extensive leisure facilities, including the 15m heated indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gym, along with games facilities and our outdoor tennis court.
