With its quiet roads, scenic valleys and rugged uplands, the Yorkshire Dales is a dream for cyclists of all kinds. Whether you're a road cyclist chasing long-distance routes or a mountain biker tackling off-road trails, the varied terrain offers something for every ability level.
It’s no wonder the Dales featured prominently in Stage One of the 2014 Tour de France. From gentle rides through peaceful valleys to tough hill climbs and exhilarating descents across the moorlands, the area delivers cycling at its very best.
Along the way, you’ll pass through charming villages, remote hamlets, and stunning landscapes—with plenty of welcoming pubs and cafés to refuel. Guests often say they see more sheep than cars and feel a real connection with the countryside from the saddle.
