Pool and leisure

We are delighted to offer you the complimentary, unlimited and completely private use of extensive leisure facilities just a short stroll from The Old Vicarage across two small fields.

The facilities, which have to be seen to be appreciated, are housed in beautifully converted farm buildings and include a 15-metre, heated indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and fully equipped gymnasium with table tennis and table football. There is also a full-sized, hard-surface tennis court.

Those wanting to keep up with a regular fitness schedule will find everything they need to exercise, while there is plenty to occupy family groups looking for a fun leisure activity or seeking to relax tired muscles after a full day's outdoor activity in the Yorkshire Dales and the surrounding area.

Guests using any of the leisure facilities have the use of two spacious changing rooms equipped with under-floor heating and showers. There is also a built-in music system in both the gym and pool areas.

Approximate time periods for use of the facilities are arranged (usually by text) with the owner the night before each day you are staying. This is useful for Health and Safety purposes and also ensures your complete privacy.

We are constantly striving to reduce our carbon footprint and have recently installed solar panels to provide electricity for the leisure facilities. A biomass wood-burning boiler has also been added to heat the radiators and provide hot water for the complex. This includes heating for the pool, so you can enjoy your swim with a clear conscience!

There is also a stable just across the courtyard from The Old Vicarage that has recently been converted to provide a 'chill-out' zone away from the main house complete with a full-sized pool table.
