First calf of the season is born!

Now this is an offer you can't refuse!! Book a break at The Old Vicarage in April and you can meet Amabel - the first of our Highland calves to be born this Spring.

Due to a cancellation, the week commencing Friday 19 April has just become available. April normally books out way in advance which is not surprising as it is one of the best times to visit the Yorkshire Dales. The weather is warming up, the days are lengthening and new life is everywhere.

Little Amabel was born at the beginning of March. She is pictured here with her mum Anna of Marrick Park. She is the first of our calves to arrive and will soon be joined by other woolly new arrivals. There are also lots of lambs in the fields surrounding The Old Vicarage - one of the many pleasures of being in the heart of the countryside.

Our friendly Highland cattle are a great hit with guests - young and old!! - and we are always happy to introduce you to them. Go on, make it a date. You know you want to!!
