Photographers give thumbs up to Yorkshire!

It's official! The Yorkshire Dales is one of the most scenic spots in the UK, according to a recent survey commissioned by the world camera manufacturing giant Nikon.

Two thousand amateur British photographers were asked to nominate the area they most wanted to catch on camera and the Yorkshire Dales with its picturesque rolling green pastures, tademark drystone walls and dramatic heather moorland was voted into second place.

With 34% of the total vote, it was only just behind the winner - Windermere in the Lake District, which scored 38%. In third place was the Peak District, followed by Snowdonia and the Scottish Highlands.

Now, we weren't surprised by this result - after all, Yorkshire is known as God's own county - but why not come and stay at The Old Vicarage which lies at the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park and see for yourself? Your holiday snaps will certainly be something worth looking at!
