If you are staying at The Old Vicarage during the summer months then you may want to help us prepare our Highland Cattle for a show.
For much of the year, these friendly characters graze the surrounding meadows in scruffy contentment but just before a show they are treated to a full bovine makeover! This involves plenty of grooming to get their coats in top condition and we are always looking for willing volunteers. Children in particular love to lend a hand.
We have already had fabulous results at the Chelford Pedigree Highland Cattle Show and Sale at the beginning of the season, including overall Champion Highlander. The next big outing is the Great Yorkshire Show which is held in Harrogate from 14 to 16 July. This is England's premier agricultural event and the competition is very high.
